Wedding Makeup: Frequently Asked Questions
How many people can you accommodate for weddings and other special events?
We cater to any number. Rest assured that I will employ expert assistants if large numbers are involved.
How long does it take for the hair & makeup to get done?
The makeup takes a minimum of thirty minutes per person to get done.
Hairstyling can take about forty minutes per person depending on the style chosen. All in all, set aside at least 90 mins. to 2 hours for hair & makeup. Keep this in mind, especially, if you are a bride so you can proceed with your dress change, photo session and go to the ceremony without the rush.
What do I need to prepare for the trial makeup session?
- Please bring photos of your preferred hair and makeup
- Hair should be washed WITHOUT a conditioner
- Come in bare faced with plenty of time to spare
- No rush. No texting/calling while on session
How soon before the wedding should we book the trial makeup?
At least three to six months or a year. Good makeup artists are difficult to book during wedding peak season.
Is it a must to do a trial makeup?
Yes, it’s best that you do this as you get to test out your look on your big day. You also get to discuss your concerns and how you want to look, and you get to see how your skin will react to the makeup products. Trial makeup is not only for brides, anyone can have their trial makeup session prior to a special event.
What are airbrush makeup and traditional makeup? What is the difference between the two?
Traditional makeup is the conventional way of applying foundation. It comes in a liquid, cream, pressed powder and cake form and applied with the use of sponges or brushes. Traditional foundation has more opaque and richer coverage. Shu Uemura, MAC, Makeup For Ever, Bobbi Brown, Benefit Cosmetics, Laura Mercier and Revlon are some of the makeup products that I use.
Airbrush makeup is a liquid makeup that is sprayed on the face using an airbrush kit. It delivers full coverage but it is more lightweight, natural and flawless looking. It is long-lasting, and rub- and water-resistant, yet easy to remove. The brands I use for airbrush are Temptu, Makeup For Ever, MAC Pro and Mehron.
