What is permanent make-up?
Permanent make-up is cosmetic tattooing. It mimics the look of freshly applied eyeliners, lips or lip liner and eyebrow pencil shading. The techniques used for application is called micropigmentation where a tattoo pen is used to inject pigment into the skin.
Each procedure takes about 30 minutes for eyeliners, and between 90-120 minutes for lips and eyebrows. The artist use a local anesthetic to numb the skin being tattooed. They will appear darker or brighter and then will fade 40-50% after the healing process.
The area will be swollen for eyeliners and lips procedure for anywhere between 2-5 days and will crust over before healing. The eyebrows don’t have any downtime, except the darker color for 3-5 days and will crust over before healing.
